I’m sure you’ve heard the term “target audience” being used by a lot of bloggers, but what exactly does it mean? Well, your target audience is the group of people you’re writing to. They are the ones who are most likely to: engage with your content self-identify as having a strong interest in your blog’s […]

How To Figure Out Your Ideal Reader

My target audience isn’t really a specific group of individuals that like what I like. Frankly, I enjoy showing off what I like and can do for myself and others.

Over the last several months, I learned that it’s easy to get caught up with the whole SEO fad. At one point, I closed down my website mostly until I took a break and started over.

Whenever I write, I don’t focus on those that’s wanting to rank on Google. Honestly, I want to coexist with everyone else and show off what makes my family and I unique.

Which most commonly used digital fad I cut loose?

It’s easy to focus on what everyone likes, fighting to become number one. In my mind, I don’t think this method will last for the next three to five years.

I finally pulled the plug with the copy-cat style with my writing and information delivery. Yep, I agree that organization is key. However, what drew my readers in 2016 wasn’t just organization. I journaled my way through open doors, onto other digital stages that I didn’t know were watching my every step.

Now, with the knowledge I have of networking, public relations, communication, and proofreading, I can sell myself without really selling out.

So, what’s in it for me?

The only thing I’ll kindly ask for is artist/writer contributions (donations). Doesn’t matter if you donate a penny or five dollars. Everything I make comes straight from my husband and I pocket, and other times what we sacrificed to make our hard work come to life.

Don’t worry, our kiddos are still getting fed and learning how to make the food last until next payday. It is how it is at the end of the day, and I can’t force the world to give us what he/she/they don’t have.

Also, I will not do the premium content crap. To me, that sounds a little excessive to track and maintain. I’m not a completely consistent person since I have to take excessive breaks from my digital life and focus on my family and college. Oh, speaking of college, I have a 3.0 GPA in one of my classes right now at GCU!

Don’t worry, I will practice my writing habits while attending college!

Finally, once my family and I move to a safer and cleaner location, I’ll have the time and patience to build every little thing down to the last hyperlink. All I can say is hold out a little longer with me, and know that I am doing my damnest to serve, provide, and conquer. Ha, you thought I was a pussyfoot kitty that’ll roll over? NOPE!

Before I go, I would love to say Happy Halloween and beware of Poppy Playtime! Yep, I think I found my new horror obsession!
